The Department of Political Science at the University of Lucerne together with the Department of Political Science at Carleton University in Ottawa are offering a Dual Master’s Degree program in Political Science. Students study in Ottawa, the capital city of Canada, and in Lucerne, Switzerland. They have access to courses taught at both departments and they receive both, a Swiss and a Canadian diploma upon graduation (by paying only Swiss tuition fees for the entire study program!).
Focused on Political Science. Dual Master’s Degree students focus their studies on political science – without minor subjects. Its disciplinary focus makes it possible to get a solid foundation in respect to theories and methods, and it allows you to dig deeper than it is the case in multi-disciplinary study programs.
Research orientated. Pursuing the Dual Master’s Degree program allows you to get familiar with two different academic environments and the distinct approaches to doing research in Europe as well as North America. At both universities, all courses are taught in English, the lingua franca of present-day social sciences. This makes the program especially suitable for students who may want to pursue a scientific career.
International. You will enjoy a genuinely international learning and research environment and benefit from the strengths and specializations of two universities. Graduates will be well-equipped to pursue an inter- or multinational career both in the academic and non-academic world.
